power steering grinding noise while in drive..
Has anyone ever experienced a grinding noise when applying the brakes and the transmission engaged in Drive and applying power left or right on the steering wheel? For example, I am going through drive thru and and wheel are slightly turned to the the left and a grinding/buzzing sound starts..
If someone can help I would appreciate it

While holding the brakes?
The slight buzzing sound might be the power brake booster building pressure back up, since these use a pump and not a vacuum diaphragm like most cars do.
If you want to test it, start the engine, then pump the brake pedal on and off. it should come back on every few seconds to build the power assist back up.

What's the power steering fluid level look like?
You might think about changing it -- the turkey-baster method works well enough. Suck the old fluid out of the reservoir, and top up with fresh Toyota PS fluid. This changes "enough" fluid.
