I'm looking for some new rims for my 98 ES300 and I saw an old post of your 3ES with GS300 rims. I was wondering if you needed to install spacers on those or if the rims rubbed the inside of the wheel wells. Also, what size tires did you use?
Again, thank you for your response and hearing about your spare. I know that buying a used car is always a gamble and a little luck helps. Sounds as if you've had a good used Lexus yourself and I can tell from some of your posts that you are very vehicle-wise. Still finding out "things" both good and bad about my $1500 investment and with the new tires, timing belt, etc. have gone over the $3000 amount. Buying from a west coast car, finding out past problems and checking whatever service records available surely helps but I was more than lucky with this car. Take care, Codger
Sorry if you get mixed messages from me, but wanted to make sure that you got a thanks for your time and correct suggestions that remedied my problem. Don't have a camera but think that you are correct to assume that the spare Good Year might be a 1998 manufacture date possibly even the original spare. Put on 4 new tires and that really made a huge difference in total feel and handling. If I had any sense I would have been more awake with checking tires and realizing handling problems could arise. You did me a big favor and I appreciate all of your help, Thank you very much, Sir.

I appreciate your suggestions and help, Mr. Booby. I checked the Eagle and couldn't find the exact arrangement of letter-number sequence that you indicated. What I did find was Dot// M6UR/ FJR/ 128. Think I'll just use it as a spare and look into buying another set of tires soon.
Thanks, again
Codger
