UCA squeak but UCA/LBJ are new
I had this problem last year so I replaced the UCA and LBJ to fix the issue. I just recently replaced the UCA again cause the issue came back. Before I replace the LBJ again, could it be anything else? Upper strut mount? It is definitely a metal on metal sound that occurs whenever the wheel is turned or the car goes over a bump in the road.

Open the hood and check the upper strut bushing see if its cracked

I recently went to a Lexus dealer complaining about squeaking and croaking whenever i drove on uneven road, they told me it was the UCA and front upper shock/strut insulator/mount/support. Total estimate was $2780 so I got the itemized list of the part numbers and will get the parts on my own and hopefully find a independent shop. Did you use OEM parts or aftermarket parts when you replaced them last year? If you need part numbers let me know. good luck

Well well well, I think I found some help here LOL
This is what posted in the suspension and brake section but no respond, I am suspecting at the same general area.
Folks, Please help This is how my problem have developed. I replaced all four struts with KYB GR2 about four months ago. All struts mouth are still OEM. Three weeks later, I replaced the LBJs with OEM joints (Wanna a hit anyone?) No problem at all everything was quiet. About two weeks ago, when I reversed and put the gear shifter into "D" I heard a big bang/crack/popping noise when I stepped on the gas. From that day on. Every time I turn the steering wheel, the passenger front corner generated a rubber squeaking sound at first, and now has evolved into the clunking noise when turning the steering wheel while parking the car. the sound (clunking) also arose only when making a turn to the left at slow speed. And every time I step on the gas at the stop light or from completed stop. When I rock the car with the hood up, the clucking/clicking sound is very prominently heard from the strut mount and strut bolt. Should I start out replacing? 1. Strut mount 2. Strut OEM ( I am think of going back to OEM) 3. Caster Arm (or Separate Bushing and Press it in) 4. Outer/Inner Rods. 5. Steering/Rack Bushing What other option should I look for. I already took the car to three shop. I'm starting to like the car and its running yellow light power. But the F..Cking clunking really bug me and a real major turn off. |
