I know! I drove one a number of times. It is really an amazing car, very few like it on the road. May be one day

Sounds like someone was using it for its intended purpose!
Rear heater is under passenger seat, just like on cruisers. LX center console has woofer in place of cup holder and disk changer in empty area of console. I'm informationjunky on IH8MUD.

Yep, 'locked' refers to the front/rear differential locks. Combined with the center diff lock (which all 80's have, and which can be activated independently of low range by adding a switch to some wiring that's already installed) you can send 25% of torque to each wheel regardless of conditions. You do not want to use this on the road!

Oooh, then I can add the rear heater to mine. Cool.

your LX actually looks great for such a low price. Good luck with it.

Power seats tend to have some issues in newer models as well.

Yeah I can fix the passenger seat with a new gear and end cap (gears still aren't in stock ), but apparently my driver seat (doesn't recline) needs something else. I'll be taking it apart to see whats going on once I get enough free time (and plates on my S2k so I can legally drive it!

Random update on the LX. Been fooling around with an egr code this whole time. Still doesn't have plates!!! Well I finally got it. After spending countless hours and even taking to local shops that wanted to replace parts that I knew were good (specifically the valve that i replaced which reversed the code and the egr temp sensor which tested fine). It all turned out to be carbon built up in the manifold and vacuum lines.

Got the gears on the passenger seat. The cap fixed the problem with the seat moving at an angle but the gear didn't help. The gear didn't look perfectly straight when I put it in so that could be it.

As for additional problems. The car started misfiring very badly a while ago. Made it home (I was only a mile away). Found the spark plugs to be gapped twice as wide as the spec. That fixed most of the misfiring, but it would still misfire under a load. Found the fourth plug wire had a slit in it. Runs smooth again

Then my radiator cracked. I've been bumming coolant from my work and buying some here and there. Tried a couple cheap fixes (none of the stop leak crap tho) but nothing worked. Looks like I'll be ordering one. Anyone have a suggestion on a good, but CHEAP radiator? Or rather where to get one.

Oh also, the problem with my rear blow was a spoon stuck in the motor...and the things I found under that seat will probably haunt me. Pasta. Cooked and sauced pasta. A special K bar that expired 5 years ago. Chapstick. A comb. Cheetos
