1. The drive train seems smoother, quicker, and more responsive.
2. The front end is amazingly free of pock marks and chips. My Acura's would be covered with them by now.
3. The external gas cap cover seems to have gone slightly out of alignment and makes a loud noise when locking the car.
4. The interior has held up really well as has the paint -- and I'm forced to leave the car in the LA sun quite a bit.
5. Speaking of paint -- dog owners -- it seems my dogs saliva has blemished the clear coat or the paint. There are about 5,6 stains only under the right passenger window -- the window she hangs her head out. That's not going to change -- I'd take my dog over any car -- but in the future I think I'll wipe that are down after we go on a trip or during the trip.
6. Floored it from a dead stop yesterday with trac control on. Had to move into a lane on the 101. Heard a clunk and a red light came on briefly. The only red light in that area of the display is the battery light. Odd. Have no clue what it is. Car has been as normal as ever since.
7. Windshield pock marks. Drive me crazy but all cars I've had seem to have soft windshields.
8. Nuluxe holding up great.
9. ML is a front weighted system. I can only surmise that it's because Levinson is an audiophile 2 channel guy and that's just the way he does things.
10. No rattles or squeaks.
11. Windshield wiper will auto swipe when cleaner is sprayed sometimes -- sometimes not. Haven't bothered to figure this out.
12. No oil burning. That is not a small thing with DI engines -- check out the Genesis forum to see what a pain that is.
13. Little or no carbon build up on exhaust tips.
14. Nav has rebooted 3x in a year.

I've owned a lot of cars over the years. This one is probably my favorite. A good size for LA and a good blend of luxury and Alfa Romeo 4e type athleticism. The best part is that the car is completely worry free. That is the best luxury item for me. I've owned Alfa's, Jags, MG's, American muscle cars, and these Japanese cars despite their limitations offer something so valuable -- I never have to go see a dealer unless I want to for maintenance. Priceless.

for number 11 have to hold the wiper stalk for a while before it wipes. Windshield gets soaked before it starts wiping

Thanks for posting your observations. I can attest to #9 (ML audio). Japanese reliability is also a big plus.

Went outside and snapped a picture. The battery light indicates a malfunction in the vehicle charging system, but If it wasn't the Battery light then possibly the Brake light which can indicate brake fluid level, brake system malfunction, and/or parking brake not released. Only other one on that side that is red is the seat belt reminder. The other lights are TRAC, VSC and hill start assist and the automatic headlight leveling system light (all on the left hand side). Page #76 of your owners manual shows a nice picture of the rest of them (headlights, PCS etc..). If it went away odds are it wasn't serious. Probably just 'shocked' the vehicle system.

Thanks Hoovey, it was on the left side. Flashed momentarily. Parking brake was definitely off. So it had to be he battery light (maybe battery shifted?), or the seat belt light (maybe as I was leaning forward to see in rear view mirror it triggered something as I accelerated?) Not worried though -- If it's big -- Lexus is excellent at covering stuff in my experience.

I know you said Nuluxe seats are holding up pretty good, but did you notice any fade? i notice that most of the red interior seats fades more noticeably than the black ones.

I have about the same number of miles as the OP. I have noticed no fading or wear with my red seats.

nuluxe is synthetic material so its not dyed like real leather, it shouldnt fade like real leather does. Its manufactured in that color

I'm just near 10k on mine and I agree with most of what you've said. The paint and interior have held up great. However, I DO have a lot of carbon on my exhaust tips, but just on the bottom 1/3 or so of them.

Also I have a spot on my hood that looks like someone scratched at with a key. Rather unamused about it. Last car wash and wax I went to town on it with some ScratchX and it got a little harder to see, but it's still very much there. Not too happy, but otherwise the lack of rock chips on the front bumper after a year or so is extremely encouraging.

I love this car. It's been a while since I've liked a new car this much. However, I still very much plan on selling it once the Tesla Model 3 comes out in 2017 or so.

I like mine very much too. I had to do a lot of freeway driving yesterday and man it's great to put it in sport + and run. Why is it women like the IS so much? I'm seeing an increasing number of women driving IS 250 Fsports.

With a spindle grill that wide where are you gonna get rock chips? Just wish my GS had that full spindle grill and so little actual bumper area so I could be rock-chip free as well.
