Cold Start - Grinding/Rattling Noise
I dropped off my IS350 at the dealership to have them check this problem. They heard the noise this morning but claims its normal and refuses to do the TSB fix. Has anyone else experience this? Is there anything I can do at this point? This does not sound like anything normal for a 40K+ car.
Please advise.
Thank you.

I had that TSB fix on that problem about a week ago, it's definitely not normal.
I don't have scanner, so I can't give you the tsib, but this is what it states:
This is what they changed on my engine:
Gear ****, Camshaft
Gasket, timing chain
gasket, camshaft bea
insulator, fuel pump
gasket, cylinder hea
gasket, air surge
Hope this helps.

I hear a rattle when I start up my car too. I was thinking that it was coming from the dash or something. It sounds like its coming from somewhere behind the instrument panel.

Hmm.. I'm not sure if I have this problem too but I only noticed it after I installed the Tanabe exhaust... I only hear the noise when a door is open and I cold start the car. If all doors are closed, I can't hear the rattle... I'm pretty sure it's coming from the outside of the car.... Is this the problem you guys had? It sounds like something metallic is loose and only happens when I start the car when it's not hot.
