Lexus IS 350 Tires
I just went in for my 15,000 mile maintainence which cost me 208$ but the dealer said I needed all new tires. He quoted me 271 dollars each for the front tires and 318 each for the rear. Does this seem a bit high? Is there any other tire that can be used for cheaper? There must be some alternative that can be done instead of spending over thousand dollars just on tires....

You can find tires cheaper, but the question then lies... Will they screw up your TPMS?
Likely the money you were quoted from the Lexus Dealer included dismount and mount. If not then yes it is too much...
I would certainly not trust your TPMS to anyone else though...

i paid about $800 for a set of nitto invo's all-around @ my local discount tire center, which includes dismounting, mounting, high-speed balancing, rebuilding my TPMS...
i wouldn't go to a dealership for tires, but if you do, expect to pay a hefty premium.

The dealer will charge you a premium on top of a premium. They are a complete rip off, especially when it comes to things like tires and maintenance work. I called the dealer to ask how much to install the Lexus trunk spoiler... they said $525. My brother whose a Toyota mechanic installed it in less than an hour. Lexus said "it was an all day thing"..

price is reasonable....but why would you want stock tires? there are ones that are so much better.... but seeing how you don't seem like the type that is willing to pay a grand for tires every 15k-25k miles.... get non performance ones....

The best tires you can buy are Michelin Pilot Sport 2's. They are by far the best in every category. If you don't mind spending over a grand for tires. If you want to spend 1 grand even get the Goodyear F1s, or Bridgestone Pole Positions. Anything less than a grand will suck.

i say go see Discount tire! They just did my PS2 tires, awesome tires, and the service & Help where great. They mounted the TPMS on the new rims and did a PERFECT job all around. The prices and service are great and they offer free balance and rotation (depending on your model) for the life of the tire! They also have tire warranties that replace the tire for no cost to you also for the life of it. Had them do this a few times for me and Brian231 also i think just had this service on a rim and tire. You wont go wrong with everything they have to offer!
