Default Cost to change brake pads?

Hello Lexus friends,

Does anyone know how much the dealer or local shop charge for changing the four brake pads, if I have the parts already? I know it is fairly easy, but may not have time and tools. Thanks a lot.

With tools all 4 sets can be replaced in about 1.5 hrs or less [with lift about an hour].

Shops and dealer would most probably turn the rotors and that would add to labor and machining cost. Dealer runs above $100/hr and other places $80/hr.

If you bring parts to a shop, usually they would only warranty the labor. If there is a problem with the part, you have to pay the labor twice.

Salim,

thanks for the info. So looks like the labor cost is about $150 ($80-100/hr x 1.5-2.0 hr), seems too much and certainly worth the diy.

Last time, I got a quote from dealer of $320 for changing the brake pad. My friend helps me to replace it, costed me about $40 for parts.

Recently did my fronts and backs for $50 total after RockAuto rebate. Very simple.
