Default No New LS till MY 2014

http://www.autoweek.com/article/2011...NEWS/110819875LS: A redesign is due in the spring of 2013 for the big flagship sedan. Weight-saving technology using premium materials is high on the priority list. As for the range-topping LS 600h, Lexus will place more emphasis on fuel economy than performance, but it will stick with a V8 hybrid, not drop down to a V6.

I'm surprised that no one responded. I wouldda thunk there would be interest as prior dates for a new bodystyle was originally the 2012 MY then 2013. Now 2014.

I guess it makes sense, with GS coming in as 2012, ES coming in late 2012 and IS coming in 2013, LS will get pushed to 2014 model year (so introduced late 2013). Otherwise, Lexus will have a bunch of aging models few years down the line, like it is now. It's good to spread out the models intro to keep things fresh each year. Hopefully, the next few years will be exciting and successful for Lexus.

Good news for us current owners, our LS will remain the same and not be the "previous generation".

I have a 2007 LS. If the 2012 is just a warmed over 2007, I'm sure going to look at the 2012 Hyunda Equus, Ultimate. Every option imaginable is STANDARD.

I've been impressed with the Equus as well, but unless they offer an AWD option, no dice. Maine winters aren't very forgiving.

not impressed with the equus execution-wise; there's tons of cost cutting evident in the interior.

i would never get a Equus...that would be like a downgrading IMHO... i personally think that its cool that it wont come out until 2014 because that means my car is the latest generation for the next 3 years

The Equus is probably an excellent car, but it's still a Hyundai. They need to create a luxury division like Toyota did if they really wanna compete.

I'm guessing the new LS will be announced this time next year as a 2014 model, with a 2013 early release, like the new GS but this year.

I've heard a final refresh before the all new model...they want to spread it out...GS, ES, IS, LS instead of debuting all at once.

doubt that LS would stay that long,,,last two gens stay for 6 production years(94-2000.2000-2006),,,which means late 2012 in my opinion,,,
