They are referring to the offset. They should fit but offset has a lot to do with fitment.

Tire shops may ask you for the tire size you're willing to run, such as tread width and the sidewall ratio. Depending on the look you're going for, you could run stretched tires or run tires flush to the rim.

Offset means really little when it comes to finding tire sizes, it's not necessary and offset is more for determining how it fits with respect to the car

Assuming you're running a 8" width rim, a 225 series tire would fit really good on it and for 10" a 265 or 275 series tire would be great.
In terms of sidewall ratio the larger the number the more rubber you'll see and will also affect the speedometer if it doesn't match factory tire circumference. I would recommend a 40 or 45 ratio if you're running 18 inch rims

Some options you can run for tires are:
225/45/18 for fronts
265/40/18 for rears

Be sure to check out a tire size calculator to determine more accurate tire sizing!

I think he was referring to the "tire shop" asking about fitment of the wheels and not what tires to run. Which would only mean offset. Also depending on offset you can run different tires. I listened to people on here saying a 275 is the widest I could fit. I have so much room and I'll be burning these off quick to get a 305 on there. I'm not a fan of stretched tires so I want traction for all my ponies.

I run a 245/35-19f and 275/30-19 rear and the rear looks dumb. I'm on 8" and 9.5" wheels and the front looks great. So for 18x8&10 id run a 245/40 and 295/35 if the offset will allow it.

thanks I want a flush fit ... Nixspeed the dimensions you mention is want i need to tell them? I did a search like the look with those tires... Cab you post a pic of your gs with those tires on 18's

Well I have 19s but close enough. Did you have a wheel picked out? Or just a rough idea? Most wheel makers have limited offset options. Unless you go with SSR, hre, volk, etc.

I'll try to get pics up soon. What I would suggest is find a wheel you like then see if they'll fit the way you want.

Do you have these wheels or have access to them? On the back of the spokes there should be all the info you need. It should say 5x114.3 18x8j and the +35 or something similar. That with be the offset. Also should have 1450kg or close which is the load rating.

My 19x9.5 are +40 offset and don't fit flush in the rear. I'm kind of disappointed. I'm just gonna bits the bullet and buy some Work or SSR wheels that fit right.

Like others have mentioned above, the offset of the BBS wheels is important to determine the fitment.

Assuming that you are currently on the stock 16x7.5 +50 offset wheels and that the BBS wheels have the same +50 offset, the fronts would roughly stick out further 0.25" and the rears roughly 1.25" compared to stock. You can pull out a ruler and measure it to get rough estimate. Keep in mind that any decrease in offset from +50 will push the wheel fitment out further (measured in mm). That is why it is important to know the offset so the kind folks in this thread can assist you.

Those BBS rims will need some pretty low offsets if you're looking for a flush fitment... if not there's always the option of running spacers to push the rims out a little further.

I know for sure on my GS a +35 offset on an 8.5" rim is perfectly flush with the front fenders on stock suspension... can't say about the rears they're pretty sunken in so I'll need spacers for those and I haven't lowered my car the fronts may sit a bit inward with all that negative camber

The front doesn't get near as much camber from lowering as the rear. I'm 2" lower and my fronts are pretty straight were the rear has 4-5* over stock alignment specs. I gotta fix that immediately. No sense in buying a 275 tire and only using 30mm of it Lol.

I have 18x10 +25 rears on 275/40/18 and 18x8.5 +25 fronts on 245/45/18. I can't go lower than this without rubbing, but the fronts need only the lips rolled and the rears need the lips cut out.. and you will be able to fit these tires and rims fine.
