Default Satellite Radio Quality?

Should satellite radio be better or worse than non-HD broadcast radio?

Never realized Z100 has a satellite station until tonight and when I went to see whether or not it was the same song playing on their broadcast station, I couldn't believe how much better broadcast sounded; then realized all satellite stations seem muffled / muted…

Yea my satellite sounds muted as well. That's why I'm not taking advantage of the free 90-day subscription

Into adding 12 satellite radio presets tonight (you know how long that took with our systems), I realized how poor the quality was, and think I may remove the presets...

I was disappointed that the Howard Stern show wasn't part of the free subscription lol. Now that I would listen to, not Oprah or Martha

I listen to Satellite almost exclusively, and once or twice a week broadcast radio. The Satellite sounds equally as good and identical to my two prior non-Lexus cars. No muffling.

Hmm; okay then; maybe something to bring up to the dealer when servicing next. Thanks.

Check the sound settings and make sure surround sound is turned on and the bass/treble/mid range is to your liking. Each source has its own settings. So when you set the settings for lets say FM, it doesn't set for the rest of the sources (satellite, CD, MP3 etc). You have to set each source individually.

Our cars has no bass. Do we even have any subs in the car?

Like a stock sub? 10" woofers or more?

I added a 10"'JL and 500 watt amp. Now it shakes the house. The stock sub i believe is a 8".

Is there a way to change out only the 8 inch sub ? Is there anything to replace it.

The stock sub is a really slim one. I don't think you can replace is with something worthy without modifying the trim panel in the boot. However, you won't gain that much with a replacement, since it's an open air mount. You need a box do get a proper bass.
