I can show them how I sealed my HL, they should replace it. Problem is it will not match the other. But, that's ok. I still have to decide if I will ever send it on for a replacement.

There is a caveat in the letter though, they will have to determine if there has been substantial evidence of condensation inside the headlamp. That I have, you can see the traces of water marks.

How can we prove this coverage in case dealers have not heard of this? Is there a letter or notice we can provide to dealers for this repair?

You should get a letter from corporate Lexus with all the details.

HID and non-HID's, both were failing and more catastrophic on HIDs.

I just got my letter today in the mail and contacted my local Lexus dealer and it sounds like this letter doesn't cover anything unless the lights are inoperative. Then you have to be put on some kind of list. WTF does all this really mean?

It means it isn't worth the paper it is printed on.

I've reached out to my Lexus Service tech for details but it looks like Lexus doesn't have all the parts for replacement yet. They expect the parts to be fulfilled by May 2014.

In the meantime, if you've already paid out of pocket for repairs/replacement, you can submit a form to request reimbursement.

Crappy timing for me since I just paid to have a shop buff my headlights due to the "yellowing effect" over time.

Hope that helps!

If your headlights don't have moisture build up, you don't have a fail part - at least for now!
This is a Warranty enhancement-extension in the interest of customer satisfaction due to high cost of replacement.
If your headlights are working fine, just moisture =waiting list
If your headlights cut out because of moisture =priority

My letter finally came in the mail today.

I love that "the Secondary Coverage is applicable for 9 years from the date of first use regardless of mileage." Whatever that means. My 2004 RX330 is now over 10 years old. So, I have until October 31, 2015 for my headlights to fail due to moisture issues.
